I was the manager of the 1967 WAFS. It stood for "Wheaties Ain't For Shit". We were league champions that summer. It really pissed George off because we had a left-handed second baseman (Craig Ehile) and we beat his team (The Grillmen) for the championship

Hi Joe, #1- Upper left corner looks like Floyd"Chico" Wells. Upper corner (left side of face cut off) looks like Steve Larson. Front row girl in black with lace on sleeves looks like Phyllis Goodwin?

I've got a new CD out for the first time in many years and I'm getting a HUGE kick out of trolling around the internet and seeing myself back in the music scene- I know, I know I'm just an ego-tripping jerk... but enuff! I see names on here of wonderful people who shared my deep love of music all those years ago. It does my heart good to see they're still goin strong and still remember! Oh, man, we had fun. I mean, really. A special shout out to Geo. Johnson, a beautiful guy who was really good to us and BELIEVED- back in our Band With No Fixed Address period. He's a Noble Son of Canada. And the 2 Brians-- great music people. & Hi Jim! The Tales told here are basically all true and you can see from what's written here what great folks they all are. These are the guys who keep the true spirit of music so Great Ghostly Alive! Hey I'm with ya, sittin here listenin to my jillions of CDs and thinkin music is a great big wonderful rock my soul thing!! Love-- Fontaine Brown

Got an email from Gerry Watson who identified some of the people in picture #3. I'll attempt to describe their positions in the photo... Girl in second row, far right in front of post is Lola Thayer. Next to her in white shirt, looking at the camera is Sandy Simonds. Over Sandy's shoulder with his head turned toward left is Ken Tilley. Continuing left and back a bit, the girl with short bangs, glasses and lipstick, in a white shirt is Sharon Mott. The guy directly behind Sharon is Gordy Vall. Standing in the back row on the left in the striped shirt is Ed Polglaze. Moving right, leaning on the room divider is John Clark. Further to the right, on the other side of the guy with his arms crossed, is Charlie Beebe. Gerry identified himself as the guy behind Lola Thayer whose face is obscured by her head and the post. OK... nice hair, Gerry. Thanks! This photo was probably from about 1959.

Gary, thanks for your comment. You and your bandmates made many people happy at the Pop House. If you remember any stories about performing there or about owner George Stankewitz, please feel free to share them. Thanks again.

That photo from Willard Alexander would have been from 1965. By 1966 we had added an eighth member and were never smaller. The names are identified correctly. The band existed from 1964 until about 1970 although the name was used by others to capitalize on the reputation. The band started playing concerts again with the same lineup in 1993 and continued until 2005.
